Common Mission Data Loader (CMDL) Project for NAVAIR to sustain the Common Mission Data Loader (CMDL) software. CMDL is used by Navy aircrews to load mission plans from PFPS into their aircraft onboard computers. Link to the CMDL SPR database: http://www.swarmview.net/cmdl_pr Common Mission Data Loader (CMDL) software is a member of the Portable Flight Planning Software (PFPS) integrated suite of applications. The PFPS suite is a Windows 2000 based software collection; primary components include Combat Flight Planning Software (interactive kneeboard card) and FalconView (digital mapping). CMDL is designed
to be a user-friendly mission-planning instrument that loads Flight Plans,
Reversionary and Primary Point Library files, GPS Almanac data and Magnetic
Variation (MagVar) coefficients to a Data Transfer Device (DTD), commonly
referred to as “Brick”. The
Brick is subsequently carried to the aircraft, and the mission data is
transferred to onboard computers to initialize systems.
