Swarm View is designed to perform as a user-friendly UAV Display and Control program. The design is meant to address the need across DoD for a common, easy to use, UAV Ground Station providing simultaneous autonomous control and telemetry replay for multiple UAVs. Swarm View is also aimed to keep the operation of the small UAV simple and effective for employment by Sailors and Marines on low cost, small form factor computer display systems. Project for NAVAIR Warfare Center AD (PAX) to develop a display and control software application to enable a user to display different types of unmanned vehicles simultaneously and control the vehicles using a simple graphical interface. This application’s Network Centric architecture allows for the display and/or control of the vehicles from multiple computers in different locations. SWARMView controls the following unmanned vehicles; “Silver Fox” UAV, “Manta” UAV, “Sea Fox” USV, “Bobo Ski” USV. JTE developed algorithms to provide precise control of the vehicles in a convoy protection roll. These algorithms control the vehicles in formations to provide maximum sensor coverage. The formation of vehicles maintains an orbit a user settable distance in front of the convoy. This project demonstrates JTE capabilities in the Systems Engineering and Software Engineering functional areas.
